PPA82-CAS-Elements of Style-Scallops

 

Scallops are definitely one of Mother Nature's best designs!  Pals Paper Arts challenges you to use scallops in your own design this week.  Keep it clean and simple and let those scallops flow across your card!

Tip:  No scallop punch?  A row of circles peeking out from under a layer of cardstock will make a scalloped edge.

Pals Paper Arts Artist Pick Winners - PPA81

It's time to announce the winners of our latest challenge. This week's challenge was a sketch challenge from our own talented Pals paper Arts Design Team member Margaret Moody.  Featured Artist Joan Norris along with our Pals Paper Arts Design Team provided ample kindling to get the creative fires burning and then it was up to you.  Dozens and dozens of talented artists responded with an array of hot interpretations of the sketch.  But alas only one quarter of a dozen can win.

PPA Design Team Profile: Gina Shaw

Gina Shaw has been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for almost two years but her interest in scrapbooking and cardmaking started about ten years ago. She loves the artistic process and her passion for color and design is reflected in her work.  Gina is also a children's book author and editor.  Her favorite part of creating children's books is merging the words and illustrations into a cohesive unit. Those skills come in very handy when tying elements together in a card!  Gina's energy and enthusiasm shine through in her blog and in her delightful creations!

Let Margaret Moody’s wonderful sketch be your guide this week at Pals Paper Arts.  Margaret’s clean sketches leave plenty of room for your creativity!  Can’t wait to see what you create!

Tip:  No worries if you stamp an image or a sentiment slightly off center.  It can often be balanced by adding an embellishment or bow.

PPA 79 – Celebrity Color Challenge

 

Designer Ashley Cannon Newell joins the Pals Paper Arts Design Team this week as Celebrity Guest Artist.  Ashley’s background is in business and she was headed toward a law career.  But something inside of her pulled her toward designing, creating and paper crafts.  Lucky for us she listened to that inner voice!  Her beautiful work has been published many times.  Her rich style is wonderfully detailed.  Listen to your creative voice and design with us this week using Riding Hood Red, Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery!

Tip:  Don’t forget that an embellishment can add color to your card as well.  Check out your stash of buttons, brads, ribbons and bling!
